ghayes got their new product label by running a design contest:
Luxury Toiletries Company Needs Minimalist Label
Check out ghayes's Product label contest…
Cosmetics & Beauty
The product is called Tour Supplied. The headline on the label should either be "TOUR" or "Tour". In both cases, if there is room, "New York City" or "West Village" can be used as a subheading.
Description of the product
Tour produces high quality, hand crafted toiletry kits for high-end AirBnB, VRBO and HomeAway hosts. Our kits include four bottles, housing body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer. Importantly, each bottle is personalized to the Host’s address (see attachments). Each kit of four bottles comes in a small gift box.
Description of the product target audience
High-end AirBnB/VRBO/HomeAway hosts use our product in their rental properties. Guests typically take the items with them at the end of their stay. Gender neutral, ages between 18-65, income level of upper middle class and above.
Clean, minimalist labels for high-end toiletries kit. The product is crafted in the West Village of New York City, and we would like to capture that vibe. The labels have four main components: 1) The company name (alternatively TOUR or TOUR New York City or TOUR West Village) 2) a space for the AirBnB Host’s personalized note (usually their address, as seen in the attached files) 3) the item in the bottle (being shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, body wash), and 4) an area at the side of the label for the item’s ingredients (please leave the ingredients section blank, as I will use Sketch to add ingredients after the fact), the bottle size (2oz/60ml), and Tour’s website link (tour-supplied.com). If there is room, also a small "recycling" symbol. The attached images show our label over a number of iterations. The preferred color palette is black and white. Off-whites and greys can also work. Companies that give us inspiration include Aesop (https://www.aesop.com/us) and Le Labo (https://www.lelabofragrances.com/). Note: please feel free to alter the font/style of our "logo."
What to avoid
Two things: too much text on the front of the label, and bright colors.
The bottles that we are using are 2oz "Boston Round" amber plastic bottles. They measure 1.5 inches in diameter, and stand 3.25 inches tall. The labels that we are using are 3 inches long and 1.5 inches tall. At least 1/4 of the label must be reserved for ingredients/product info.
