Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are in the party business, but to make money we do people's tax returns.
A client gets friends/roommates/relatives over to have a tax prep party. We send an associate to collect all the party-goers tax information and make sure their paperwork is in order. We also bring a case of beer (on us) to make it an actual party. Everyone drinks and hangs out while the associate sits down with each person individually to make sure all their info is in order. Client tax information is brought to our office and the return is prepared by a CPA.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
A 2 sided 4x6 post card describing what a Tax Prep Party is and the benefits of having one. A call to action to call our number or visit our website to make an appointment. Something bold and young looking; I don't want it to look like a sober old man accounting firm. Something like, "Drink beer, get your taxes done."
Everything is explained on our website, but needs to be distilled down for the post card. Basically: get your friend/roommates together for a party. Everyone brings tax info, we bring beer. Drink free beer while we collect everything, bring it back to the office, do you taxes and get you your refund. No payment upfront required, payment is deducted from your return money. Rapid refund loans are also available.
Our target audience is 18 to 30 year old professionals and especially freelancers/artists who have many business deductions (musicians, artists, graphic designers, etc). We operate in New Jersey and the NYC Metro Region. Hipster types who probably go to HR Block and don't have an accountant that they have a relationship with yet.
