We need a cover design for a new book. We publish non-fiction self-help books that provide critical information for use in people's everyday lives. Life-saving, healing, spiritual, nutritional, and inspirational stories.
What's your vision?
This is a non-fiction book called Got Cancer? Now What? A Layperson's Guide for the Newly Diagnosed. The author is a cancer survivor. What you do after a cancer diagnosis is critical. Will you remain in denial, or take charge and make decisions that could prolong your life? In this easy-to-read guide, it describes precisely what to do after the devastation of a cancer diagnosis. The author uses her own experiences of having been diagnosed with two different types of cancer to illustrate how being positive and prepared can have an incredibly beneficial effect on cancer outcomes. Her unique perspective and determination to navigate the world of cancer treatment results in an inspiring and informational read. Whether you have been diagnosed with cancer or know someone who has, this book will help you decide how to select doctors and treatments, as well as how to take care of your body with both traditional and alternative therapies. This is an excellent place to begin gathering information to help you navigate the mysteries of cancer. Got Cancer? Now What? is a truly empowering guide, one that covers both the scientific and personal aspects of cancer. Even if you feel like the world of cancer is too complex, after reading this book, you will know exactly what to do! We have an image and feel free to experiment with it for the cover. It could be seen through looking in from a window as an idea, or use your imagination. You can also create a designed cover without it. The message in the picture denotes several messages to the reader which can be interrupted as, a long climb ahead, or wonder what the future holds, etc. The book will ALSO be in doctor's offices. We tend to lean more towards book covers that have more of a clinical tone, yet friendly and welcoming. The back of the book should have room on second half of bottom for a picture of author and the upper half should have the blurb about the book which is in this communication. The design should look provocative to a potential reader, incite some curiousity, and give a professional and credible impression. We need a cover for a paperback book of 260 pages. This book will be printed through Createspace (amazon) using their cover design template so please review their requirements for a 6x9 book with black and white interior. It also will be going to Lightning Source for cover design so it needs to also meet their requirements. If you need these, please advise. We also need an E-book cover.
DESIGNERS: THINK 'CONFUSION---FEAR----CONFUSION----CLARITY----HEALTH. THIS BOOK IS ABOUT ALL CANCERS SO USING PINK RIBBONS ONLY DENOTES BREAST CANCER AND WE DO NOT WANT TO SEND THAT MESSAGE TO READERS. GOOD IDEA, JUST NOT FOR THIS BOOK. EVERYONE IS DOING GREAT. THANKS SO MUCH. The audience will be the newly diagnosed, their family and friends who want to help support them through the process of recovery. Women of all ages are more likely to purchase the book for themselves and loved ones, however would not discount anyone involved in the cancer industry from reading it. The book has the authors personal story, along with medical and technical information making it very unique. There is an extensive bibliography and index backing up the depth of research.
