My third or fourth design with UNTALENTED-- he gets things done and does them well! Will definitely continue working with him.
I loved the process... The designer was a true professional and delivered a creative and unique idea for my book cover!
How tkornfield started their poster journey
Who are you known as?
Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Located in Anchorage, Alaska, USA our organization provides cross-country skiing opportunities for the community. We put on programs and events for youth and adults, one of which is a ski race, the "Tour of Anchorage" where skiers ski across the city 25, 40, or 50km from point A to point B. Our poster helps increase awareness and signups for the event locally, and we also hope to become more a destination race for many in the lower-48.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
A poster showing a strong skate skier to represent the competitive race, while also showing a scenic background to represent skiing in Anchorage, Alaska with "Ski the Tour". All in the style of a vintage ski poster from 1920’s Europe. See below for examples, ideally this will be a strong skate skier from behind skiing towards Mt. Susitna. The skier shape and Mt. Susitna are important, and overall it's a very simple design without clutter or business.
1st pic - vintage ski poster example with our logo on it
2nd pic - the figure of a strong skate skier
3rd/4th pics - 2 shots of our race, one with mountain scenery along the ocean, the other of a strong pack of skiers
5th pic - The style of poster that imitates what we imagine, a strong skate skier from behind skiing towards Mt. Susitna
6th pic - Mt. Susitna (called Sleeping Lady) the mountain you see as you race towards the coast. Very recognizable from Anchorage.
