It is a super basic puzzle game. Think Bejeweled but with skeleton heads dressed with hipster fashions (chunky black glasses, mustaches, beards, large quaffed hair, etc.). I would also like to keep an even balance between hand drawn and flat. Sort of like how you see in apps like Doodle Jump, Plants vs. Zombies.
The app should have 7 skeleton heads that will drop from above to match with 2 other matching skeleton heads or more on the gameplay screen. This is in order to create a match and have the matched skeleton heads disappear. Longer chained matches will happen too - so I need the following for the sprites of the skeleton heads to help with animation:
- explosion (in the same style as the skeleton head art work, and need 9-12 pieces to the animation to make this sprite animate nicely - this needs to encompass the center skeleton head and all the surround skeleton heads - so the size needs to be 3x3 in size compared to a skeleton head)
- stars (sparkles that can overlay the skeleton head to indicate something special will happen to this skeleton head when matched)
- "on fire" (when you match more than 3 skeleton heads in a row (vertically and/or horizontally) the match results in a skeleton head that is on fire, the flames need to circle the skeleton head and not touch - symbolizing that if this match is made with this skeleton head, then the result is an explosion as noted above)
- highlight - this is the sprite to hint to the user on a potential next move to make a match
I need the heads to be at least 144px square. Larger is better and original illustrator work delivered for all illustrated heads would be preferred. This is so I have large sizes to work with - for other device and OS builds.
The background to the app needs to be something that is within the design, but is not really present, just adds to the design - but does not take it over. Not too flashy, something organic and has a texture to it.
