**GENERAL COMMENTS FOR FINALISTS (IN CAPITAL LETTERS) ** ** OUR OVERARCHING GENERAL COMMENT IS THAT WE WOULD LIKE THE WINNING DESIGN TO REFLECT THE ARTISTRY, TONE, AND EXCITEMENT OF HANDZOFTIME AND LAWYERR'S SUBMISSIONS, WHILE ALSO CAPTURING REALISTIC DETAILS OF SOPHIA, SUCH AS IS DONE BETTER IN THE OTHER FINALIST DESIGNS. ** PLEASE SEE THE ADDITIONAL PHOTOS OF SOPHIA THAT I HAVE RECENTLY ADDED SO YOU CAN SEE EXACTLY WHAT SHE LOOKS LIKE. NOTE SPECIFICALLY THE SHAPE OF THE EARS (GOOGLE OTHER PAPILLONS TO SEE THEIR CHARACTERISTIC EAR SHAPE AND HOW THE HAIR FALLS IN RELATION TO THE EARS), THE SHAPE OF THE CHIN/SNOUT, AND HER UNIQUE COLORING (WHICH IS UNLIKE OTHER PAPILLONS). ** EVERYONE SHOULD STRIVE FOR THE LEVEL OF ARTISTIC QUALITY SEEN IN HANDZOFTIME'S SUBMISSIONS. THOSE COME THE CLOSEST TO CAPTURING THE ENTHUSIASM AND VITALITY WE'D LIKE THE LOGO TO COMMUNICATE. -- Previous comments: I have attached a copy of the Varsity Pets logo and two photos of the real Sophia. Essentially, we want to create a cute but kinda serious cartoon superhero version of this dog. Not freakishly muscular, just fit and sharp looking. No cape. Collar, lettering, and any other trim should be in VP colors and font. Here's more from her owner about what Sophia's true colors are: I want to add that she has very dark brown eyes ( they almost look black they are so dark). There is also some sable specking, (although very sparingly) throughout her body and legs. Upon careful inspection I have noticed that she has the daintiest of full sable eyelashes, which would add to her femininity in a cartoon. Another feature which adds to her femininity is the subtle smokey black eye liner look around her eyes. Her lips have a true black "eye liner look" also. There is a soft charcoal black area below and above her lips all the way up to, around and over her nose. This is very subtle and difficult to describe. It is best to look at a photo of her for this feature. The Pappillion has the dew claws removed when very young. Which I found out upon her arrival when I counted her 16 claws. Her nails alternate white and black and are 75% covered with her paw fur. Her nails on her front paws from her left to her right (including left and right paw) they are: Black-White-Black-White Black-White-Black-Black Her nails on her back paws from her left to her right (including left and right paw) they are: White-White-White-White White-White-Black-White Her toe pads alternate pink and black and are: On her front paws from her left to her right (including left and right paw) they are: Black-Black-Black-Black Black-Pink-Black-Black On her back paws from her left to her right (including left and right paw) they are: Pink-Black-Pink-Black Pink-Black-Black-Black Her palm pads, the big middle ones, all four are black. The whiskers on her muzzle are white. The whiskers on her cheeks are black. The whiskers above her eyes are black. The sable spot on her back and the sable spot at the base of her tail are not 100% sable. The spot on her back and the spot on the base of her tail both have about 40% black brindled in that creates a darker sable appearance of about 50% of the total spot . The typical flat collar tangles and mats a long haired dog. Sophia wears a deep cranberry colored rolled leather collar all the time. Her white fur is so long that very little of the deep cranberry color shows through.
