Animal & Pet
We're a not-for-profit dog and cat rescue organization that takes dogs from Chicago's high-kill shelters, places them in loving foster homes, pays for medical care and other pet needs, and places the dogs into adoptive homes.
Logo types to explore
I'd like to play up the idea of a "hideout" as a fun escape, not as a refuge or something dark. Think fort or treehouse. The logo needs to be hip and include something concrete that can be associated with a dog, like a dog's face, a doghouse, or a pawprint. I had the idea of a doghouse with a wooden "hideout" sign nailed on or something similar. A focus on hip, young, fun, approachable, and positive is a must (I don't want to focus on the euthanasia/death part of rescue, rather on the bright futures of the animals we work with). Also, it's important to me to be seen as a "professional" rescue in an area where there are many rescues that are disorganized, immature, or incompetent. I'd like to balance cuteness with clean, professional, and together. Nothing too saccharine, messy, or overly cartoonish. Fonts should be crisp and clean--please avoid anything in the bubble letters or Comic Sans area! As inspiration, logos from the startup world might be helpful. A clean, young, fun logo that wouldn't be out of place for a tech start up, advertising firm, or production company is in the right direction.
