I purchased the store Gryfalia’s Aerie ( http://www.gryfaliasaerie.com )in July 2014, and this is a complete rebranding of that store for the future. The store has been in existence for 7 years, and has a good reputation in our community. The old owner’s opinion was that "all the gamers know where the store is" - and this worked for high school and college kids. My thought is that I want to reach out to families and younger gamers, and be more inclusive. We have a lot of our business related to Magic the Gathering, but board games and miniatures like HeroClix as categories have picked up significantly since last summer.
We are interested in the raccoon being a recurring character used in multiple designs over time. His name will be Griffy, and I imagine him sometimes being dressed as a knight, or a card player, or in a sci-fi outfit, etc., depending on what is going on in the store. However, we want to stay away from anything that might be confused with Rocket Raccoon.
Once we have decided on a new logo, we are planning on changing all existing websites and advertising media to match that new logo and/or fonts, so do not worry about continuity with existing materials.
Below are some points to help you on your way:
- Needs to look AMAZING on t-shirts (in at least black t-shirts and white t-shirts), think a bunch of gamer geeks wearing them.
- Must be reversible (i.e. the logo must work on black AND white backgrounds)
- Needs to look great printed on paper in color AND black and write
- Must be able to work VERY well in a website.
EDIT: I added some cartoons of raccoons that I found online. Definitely going for a fun and family friendly look. Please note that the raccoon does not have to be red.
