AskMe.HearMe is a research project focused on engaging urban youth in physical health care settings with well-being resources. Specifically, we seek to increase knowledge and awareness of mental health symptoms and options for self-help (e.g., good coping skills, positive behaviors) and support.
Participants in our study will be young people between the ages of 14 and 22 seeing a physical health care provider at urban health care clinics. They’ll engage with a tablet to complete mental health and health questionnaires, watch educational videos, and receive personalized recommendations for next steps they can take to nurture their well-being. They’ll also have access to an interactive website and app to find resources and opportunities in their community that promote well-being (e.g., arts and music events, formal mental health services, mentors). Parents of youth in this age range will also be invited to participate in some of these activities.
We recognize the format of our name is unique and are excited to see how you work with it!
