7supboards got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo for new Stand-Up Paddle Board Company
Check out 7supboards's Logo design contest…
I am starting a Stand-Up Paddle (SUP) board company, the name is "Se7enSUP" or "7SUP (preferred I think)"... I am looking to get a logo in place, with the hopes of getting a board designer next (7 boards and website to design in next two months). I really see this as a dual-logo, I'm hoping you see it that way too. Most logo's have a slight variation and I see this as both an icon/logo as 7SUP, as well as the alternate (or other way around) is a kid with his head down and thumb up (american kids' game "head's up/7-Up") or possibly a longer written name se7enSUP (with SUP in bold perhaps). Also possibly the alternate is a kid with his head down and thumb up (american kids' game "head's up/7-Up") but I'm sorry but winning designer should address both, eventually. The look of both logo variations will be very, very similar style IMO, which is why I want to get them done together (maybe need some additional $ to polish them perhaps but the main concept for both), by the same designer. I added a couple hundred dollars to compensate... I'm sure that's a joke of a low sum to add to some but it's all I have for now. If you are still interested in this contest, I have written a much more detailed letter and included it as an image(PDF) in the attachments. I think it was easiest to explain my thoughts and for you to see some concepts I've been working on, with written descriptions. Please please please, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me directly and I'm going to do my best to be as attentive to you all as I possibly can so as to not waste anyone's time. I'm going to be periodically reaching out to the design group if I come across inspiration (my background is Architecture so I have an 'eye' for it I guess, just not the skills). Thank you so much for reading. -Ryan
Other color requirements
Not really. Most of my competitors seem to be mostly black and white, that's a strong possibility.
It all began with a design brief.

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
7supboards collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
