We are looking for a minimal, contemporary logo to contrast against our more folksy name. We want the logo lettering and fonts that have a lot of character and clean lines, like the new logos added above. We think the clean, unfussy look helps to describe our desire to streamline the floral design process to deliver a high quality product. It also will not compete with pictures of flowers on our website or in advertising, as seen by the Juniper and Amy Osaba logos that are put over top of pictures of flowers.
We are also interested in a design that has a standalone mark that can be used apart from our name as a stamp. You do not have to be too literal or to include a dogwood bloom in logo mark design. As said above, "dogwood" really is intended to symbolize foraging for natural greenery and blooming branches rather than that particular flower. As such, we are interested in something that is focused on greenery with movement and any floral elements should not be immediately recognizable as a specific flower type. It is not a problem if you do not include a mark, but just something to consider. Also, don't feel constrained if you want to go outside of the box (as shown by the colorful abstract logo we added); have fun with it and we will let you know if you are on the right path!
The logo will be the company's primary logo and will be used on the website, on business cards, etc. The logo will likely be in letterpress for business cards. We have tried to provide guidance on the elements we liked from other florists, so please take a look. If you have any questions or thoughts on the design, please reach out to us; we are open to a collaborative process and will continue giving constant feedback.
