Richard Harrison got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Help FootyBet Jackpot with a new logo

Taking it one week at a time.
We have solved the riddle as to how the workplace footy tipping competition can be a viable on line betting medium. We are targeting Australian football fans of AFL and NRL. (possibly also A League Soccer in the summer months) Players need to select all of the winners in a single round of either AFL or NRL together with the team that scores the highest amount of points and another team that will score the lowest amount. NB: Players must select all the winners together with the highest and lowest scoring teams. Simply selecting all the winners is not sufficient to win. The concept operates as a totalizator whereby 80% of the money wagered each week is paid to winners. People can win thousands for just $1.00 but importantly the concept is not bookmaking. It is a skilled based lottery and we are not (primarily) targeting dedicated sports punters but the everyday footy fan for the whom the extent of their betting on football extends about as far as the office tipping competition. In fact we hope that workplaces, clubs and pubs will form syndicates with each member contributing a few dollars each week in the hope of landing a big prize that they can all share. We are targetting everyday football fans not seasoned punters. As such we want the logo to reflect something that is fun and exciting. The idea is to make a modest outlay each week in the hope of winning a big dividend. We anticipate the average weekly dividend will be well in excess of $1,000.
Logo types to explore
We must NOT incorporate the AFL or NRL logo into our own design. We are licensed to operate on their games but not to reproduce their (or any club) logos. Ignore the Intralot logo on the mock up. That was just there for a presentation purposes. We need to be careful the logo does not represent one code more than the other. Any 'football' element must be generic and not identifiable as an AFL ball or a rugby ball for example. In time we may well operate on the A-League (soccer) as well. By the same token we could p[ossibly incorporate an AFL and NRL ball as each of the two 'Os' in Footy and cahnge these to round soccer balls in the off season. Need a logo for the web site that is effectively horizontal and a variation that fits within a Facebook/Twitter graphic that is essentially square and 600 x 300 pixels. See attached mock ups. We will of course need to extend the look and feel of the logo throughout the entire web site design.
