MIBLSI (Michigan's Integrated Behavior and Learning Support Initiative)
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
MIBLSI is a professional development project sponsored by the Michigan Department of Education. Their target audience(s) are public school district administrators (i.e. superintendents, board members, principals).
MIBLSI uses methods found in "Implementation Science" to allow them to scale up their program throughout the state, and to restructure entire school districts into supporting specific best practices.
MIBSLI's best practices involve integrating behavior and learning, and they believe behavior difficulties affect learning just as learning difficulties affect behavior. MIBLSI are strong proponents of a method of instruction known as Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS).
MIBLSI would love to see every school in the country adopt their proven best practices regarding behavior and learning.
