MAonRails got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Gymdesk needs a modern minimalist logo. Online software for gyms and martial arts schools

Gymdesk provide online management software to gyms, yoga studios and martial arts schools. Our target audience is gym owners and staff
This is part of a rebrand of our existing brand, "Martial Arts on Rails" into a brand that is more inclusive of gyms and other membership type businesses, hence "Gymdesk". You can check our website here for inspiration for the software we create and audience we serve - https://www.maonrails.com The logo needs to have a standalone graphic that can be used without the full name (for favicon, app stores, etc). We prefer simpler shapes and less detail so it can still work in smaller sizes. It should communicate strength / fitness (but not literally - please no barbells). It can convey that through design (strong, bold lines) or with a graphic (again not gym equipment preferably, unless you have a great idea). We prefer a modern style with clean lines and an organic feel. Things we like - subtle gradients / two tones to create the illusion of depth. Use of negative space. Symmetry breaking elements. UPDATE: We've seen quite a few submissions so far, and the main things that are missing from most submissions are * Uniqueness - many submissions are just the G or G and D from the name with a few random geometric lines. It looks nice visually, but it ends up being generic and has no connection to the brand we're trying to establish. It needs to have something that stands out and feel impactful. * Relation to strength / fitness / gyms without using gym equipment. It needs to have some connection to the brand we have, which is software for gyms and martial arts schools. * No symmetry breaking - there's a lot of perfectly symmetrical, geometric shape logo submissions. We want it to have some kind of dynamic, organic element as well that breaks the symmetry and adds flair (for example, a swoosh across)
