We are a professional development organization that serves educators from pre-school through the university level. Our specialty is bringing technology and best teaching practices together to: Inspire educators to use instructional strategies powered by technology; engage students in the excitement of learning; enrich teaching to dramatically improve student performance.
eMINTS began in 1999 in Missouri, USA but has since expanded to other US states as well as internationally. The eMINTS acronym originally stood for "Enhancing Missouri's Instructional Networked Teaching Strategies." Since our expansion, we rarely explain the acronym anymore; we are just eMINTS or the eMINTS National Center.
While we do NOT want a tag line as a part of the logo, it may help to know a couple tag lines we have used in the past:
A Refreshing Approach to Teaching and Learning
Inspired Teachers | Inspired Students
We have a variety of professional development programs that include face-to-face training, online courses, and a blending of face-to-face and online approaches. We work with a variety of technology as well, including laptops, tablets, web 2.0 tools, mobile learning, social networking, etc.
We would like a logo that has a modern feel and reflects our 21st century approach to education. Our current logo can be found on our website http://emints.org. We think it’s dull and references specific and outdated technology. We do not want our new logo to reference another device that will be outdated within just a few years.
We do like the web 2.0 aesthetic of a simple and clean design. However, gradients or drop-shadows can be problematic. We do a lot of single-color printing on conference swag or stitching on apparel, and gradients are difficult to manage under those conditions.
Our program websites http://emints.org and http://elearningmo.org will be redesigned to match the new logo. We are open to a fresh color scheme that we can use to update the sites along with the logo.
