How alexandravigars started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Dogwood Speech and Debate League
What’s your company slogan?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The purpose of this organization to promote interest in interscholastic forensics by encouraging a spirit of fellowship among both students and coaches, a spirit of professionalism among coaches and by conferring upon deserving candidates awards recognizing their achievements. In non-constitutional terms we host competitive high school speech and debate programs and we are looking for a logo to not only put on our trophies, but gives a new feel to a community that has been divided for too long and has decided to come together to work towards a common goal of providing competitive communication education for our students. It is important to note that Dogwood was selected as a symbol of pride for the state of North Carolina.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors:
Greens: Growth, harmony and success.
Reds: Energy, action, passion and love.

We have a lot of people who really haven't bought into our organization yet and we really want something professional yet cool that says we are the waive of the future. We want something that says speech and debate as well as communications, but not some old school like a podium or gavel unless things have really been updated and modernized. It would be nice to see a dogwood tree's roots, branches, leaves, etc. transformed into something about oral communication.
We have had some interesting designs so far, however...I would like to see something still that models the "Degree of Distinction" layout, maybe the raise your voice layout with the microphone becoming a tree, and maybe something North Carolina driving with the face like feature of the Ohio design.
