Thomas Hisey got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Design a logo for FreedomForum, the world's future largest liberty discussion!

FreedomForum (freedomforum.me) is a forum for libertarian political discussion and news dissemination with a global audience. It's mission is to promote a society that achieves it's objectives through voluntary interactions, coercion-free.
Logo types to explore
There seems to be a pervasive perspective that the notion of liberty is somewhat antiquated so in order to combat this I'd like the format to be modern. Symbols that could be explored are a torch, stars, or possibly hands shaking but hands shaking alone doesn't strike me as being as powerful. Those are just some examples. I like the combination of a navy/dark blue with silver/white.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Logo design starts at €269.
