This logo needs to convey power and strength and be modern & edgy. Use clean lines that look modern (no old world script, etc). The prizes are going to be logoed so the logo needs to look good on lots of things. It needs to be gender neutral (no likenesses of a person). We need to visually convey "Industry" without it looking like a factory. I had an idea and pictured a sort of gear to represent industry (moving, working together, endless circle, part of a whole, orchestrated). But it doesn't have to be that; be creative! Maybe just the words among the backdrop of the area will suffice? Surprise me! I want the logo to look so cool that people would be proud to wear it if we put it on apparel. It also has to look good in one or two colors.
Type in Silicon Slopes and you can see the area we are targeting. Make sure you are looking at Lehi Utah and not downtown Salt Lake with the Temple backdrop. In Lehi, we have a lot of office buildings, but not huge sky scrapers. A good visual of the area is the backdrop of Mount Timponogos which is a very distinguishable mountain shape in the area and could be incorporated into the logo to easily identify this high-tech corridor. If you use the mountain, it is important to get the shape of the mountain right.
The host Golf Course is Thanksgiving Point. There are pictures on line looking at the clubhouse with Mount Timponogos in the background; that could be cool? Our intent is to have the area visually identifiable within the logo and I would love to showcase Golf Course too somehow, since they are the sponsor and we want them to remember the course. The office buildings need to be more generic if you use them, so that one Company won't be upset if their building didn't show up in the logo.
DON'T use anything cheesy like a computer to represent tech.
Modern, edgy, rich, and high-end. You are amazing! Thank you!!
