Black Shark Media make films primarily for sports brands, often using comedy. Target audience is mainly sports brands but with a a touch of humour in there.
The idea with this brief is to use the exisiting look and feel and brand colours that we have on our website and build them into a crest like you would find on a soccer shirt. Things we would like to consider incoporating (but not all essential) on the crest:
1) Since 2004 (or just 2004) - could use Latin numerals "MMIV" here instead
2) Ludos et risus (motto - "sport and laughter" in Latin)
3) Some representation of shark imagery which might be good if it related to our existing clapperboard logo (I have attached this. Note - clapperboard can be used without wording on it and also without the thin line that runs through it. Also doesn't have to be used at all!)
4) The fonts we use on our website
5) Anything else sport related. Doesn't have to be tied down to soccer necessarily. Equally the fact that it is in a crest style might be enough of a sports feel.
6) "BLACK SHARK" or "BLACK SHARK MEDIA" or neither!
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
We have an existing logo and brand colours we'd like to build this around which can be found on our website http://www.blacksharkmedia.com - the blue being the main colour with a combination of blacks, greys, and white. With possible occasional use of that yellow.

Like the fact it's a crest design and is quite modern and punchy.
like the colours and simplicity and humour. But it's obviously not a crest.
Like the more classic feel here.
like the crest design.
like the graphic look of this one.
Like the modern and simple look here
more of a classic design but feels well established(probably too traditional )though in it's fonts etc
I've mainly put this all in the section above. I've attached our existing logos, primary font, and look and feel. It would be good if this crest version could feel part of the same world as this. It's not essential that the word "Media" is included as we're often known just as "Black Shark". It's also not essential that "Black Shark" is necessarily included as the crest design could work without this. In the "BLACKSHARK" wording it's is Akzidenz font but the 'spikes' instead of As were custom created but should be easy enough to recreate if you want to include the wording.
The central idea as we primarily make films for sports brands is to create a crest/badge that could for example live on a soccer shirt but also be used on our website/at the start or end of our films and showreel/and could potentially be simply animated in the future to form an ident. Main things to reflect are sport, filmmaking, a touch of shark, and a dash of humour.
