Create a cool, stylized logo representing the action of cricket

This is going to be a blog/website devoted to advancing the sport of cricket in the United States using humor and plenty of attitude. We will sell t-shirts, hats, stickers, and other products that will feature this logo.
If you're familiar with the sports of soccer and cricket, the kits (uniforms) feature badges that are usually placed on the chest over the heart. I want this logo to be that badge. I have a design in mind, though I have some flexibility. I'd like the badge to feature a cricket ball in motion, and the ball would have a face. I was thinking that its facial expression would be a wry, confident smile vs. the ball screaming or angry. Think George Clooney's classic smirk. Behind the ball, I want the three stumps (wickets) and two bails that are key to the game of cricket featured. My idea was to have the ball striking the wicket, so the badge would give the sensation of movement and the "crack" of that contact. The other idea would be to also feature a cricket bat, which would be striking the ball prior to it hitting the wickets. Again, it'd be cool to convey the action/motion. Stylistically, I want it to be bold with well defined lines. The style I have in mind is what you find in minor league baseball mascots. I've attached some that I like, though most of these are angry and I don't want that. I'm open to different color schemes, though I'd like the logo to be flexible enough to be put on t-shirts of a variety of colors. If it could be easily made into something all white as a variation, that'd be a bonus. Please let me know if you have any questions.
