Our school district is in the process of re-working our school district symbols that demonstrate our values and beliefs. As part of that process, we are looking to develop a new school shield or academic logo.
We are contemplating the development of a school academic logo, shield, or some other icon to help with branding and increasing the academic nature of our school environment. We are envisioning something that represents our school, our heritage, and our aspirations for our students and our community (such as Chimney Rock, a Tiger, etc.)
One example we have been looking at is the seal of the University of Nebraska. You can see a copy of that seal at the following link: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipe…al.svg.png
Here are the things that we have discussed that we would like considered for inclusion in the shield or logo:
Agriculture: images that represent FFA, beets, corn, wheat, beans etc. Chimney rock
The Arts: music, art, one acts, choir, band, show choir
Athletics: x-country, football, basketball, volleyball, etc. Tiger, Bayard "B"
Academics: math, science, reading, computers, technology, quality instruction
Community/Families/Relationships: Scouts (girl and boy), families, togetherness, local fire and police, pathfinders,
Student Success Opportunities Alumni: something to show what our past tigers have gone on to do.
People in our community like the Cincinnati Bangals logos with the Tiger http://realballinsiders.com/blog/20…go-251715/ and the "B" with the tiger stripe through it. http://prod.static.bengals.clubs.nf…/large.png They often purchase attire with those logos as a proxy for our Bayard Tigers.
We have a phrase that we use to capture our belief that every person is valued every day in our school. This is part of our "Core Covenants" as a district. These are:
Every Person, Every Day.
Focused on the Student
Attitude of Excellence
It’s a FACT!
