Attorney & Law
Armstrong & Hastings is a recent merging of two independent law practices. Christopher S. Armstrong and Diana Hastings are among the top Trusts & Estates lawyers on the West Coast, dealing primarily with international families. Please take particular note of the fact that this practice exists specifically to AVOID our clients going into court. If an estate goes to trial, then something has gone wrong with the transfer of business and monetary holdings. Traditional legal icons like a gavel or scales are not applicable to this type of law. A pillar is the only traditional legal trapping that might be appropriate. More on this in a moment. Armstrong & Hastings have asked for some kind of a play on the letters A and H. You will probably have the most success with some sort of a monogram. Any graphical elements would likely be silhouetted or otherwise stylized. We are not looking for a flashy depiction. If you chose to add a stylized graphical element, consider the fact that this area of the law is part contractual and part family planning. Our clients are foreign, wealthy, and don't like to call a lot of attention to themselves. Imagery like a bridge between two places or a beacon would make more sense than something that implies a courtroom. The logo should be suitable for a business card, letterhead, or website banner. A horizontal arrangement is preferable. --- Additional Information --- CSA was in the process of working on a new website when the merger occurred, the template is here: http://www.rmstrnglaw.com/test/static/ The website template we had been working on for Ms. Hastings old firm was here: http://www.imperativeideas.com/fomlaw/ Another firm in our industry that we have worked with is here: http://www.kozlaw.com As you can see, although the designs are quite simple, a stoic sort of elegance is the goal. The basis of the next design, however, will begin with a logo and color palette selection. CSA's prior logo used the Optima font, which I will attach, but we are open to other ideas. Upon final delivery we would like something that is vector based and we will want to know what font you used, upon approval, so that we can use it in future designs. I have also attached a PDF with the information CSA wants on the letterhead, including the blue color that he is partial to. Mr. Armstrong is not a designer but I suspect Ms. Hastings will be much more involved once she has some ideas to work from. This brief will be continually updated with new information as submissions are presented.
Logo types to explore
The attorneys in this practice are in their 50s and 60s. Our clients are mature, international, often conservative, and very wealthy. Design appropriately for that audience. This is a combination of a "letter form" and a "word mark"
