How Alberta Soccer started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Alberta Soccer Provincial Championships
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The Alberta Soccer Association is the governing body for soccer in the province of Alberta. We host Provincial Championships for the top soccer teams in the province twice a year (indoors and outdoors) for Youth Teams (12 to 19 years old) and Senior Teams (18+). These Championships are the pinnacle of success for soccer teams in Alberta. The target audience is male and male and female soccer players between ages of 12 to 25. Logo should be appealing and something our younger audience would be proud to wear on merchandise. You can find out more information about us at http://www.albertasoccer.com. We are located in the province of Alberta, Canada.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
We are ideally looking for a 2-4 colour design - red and blue are typically our main colours but we are open to other options (please no pastels or fluorescents). The design should incorporate an element of soccer (ball, etc. - please no player silhouettes). Feel free to use elements of design that reflect the tournament being an Alberta provincial championship (ex. mountains, the shape of province, other Alberta/Canadian symbolism). The design needs to identify the competition (ie. "Alberta Soccer 2018 Provincial Championships"). The logo of our primary sponsor (Servus Credit Union) either needs to be incorporated into the design, or needs to be able to be positioned below the logo.
We have included copies of our provincial association logo and our the provincial championships logos from 2016 and 2017 for reference. We are looking for something different from the previous years so that our participants (over 300 teams and at least 5,000 athletes) who may have purchased our tournament merchandise in the past have fresh/new options.
