We are a new barbershop focusing on updated classics. Our space is light and nostalgically retro and we are looking for graphics to match. The name Old Dog is inspired by my old Saint Bernard who passed away. He was a lazy, friendly, and familiar face who welcomed everyone. I named the shop in honor of him to bring a comfortable and warm prescience. We’re looking back in homage to the past to make people feel their best today.
Other color requirements
Would prefer red, white, with minimal blacks or silvers
The shop itself is an ultra traditional men’s barbershop. We have designed the space to look like it could be out of the 50s. I find inspiration out of retro diner and drive in logos as well as elements of Art Deco with clean lines and soft edges. Sour haircuts are precise and meticulous and the logo should reflect that. Having structure to the typography is very important. The name of the shop MUST be a specific font, a combination of Bookman OTC and Bookman Swash Bold. It is inspired by an older logo used by the Detroit Red Wings. I am open to changing the type for “Old Dog” and changing the orientation but I’d very much like to keep the type for “Barbershop” as is., if no the whole thing. While the name does reference a Saint Bernard, I’m a little hesitant to include a dog into the logo. If so, it would have to be very cartoonish, pop, and perhaps just an outline. I’d prefer to focus on a very stylish and retro typography oriented logo. PLEASE, NO barber poles, razors, clippers, scissors!
