How marketing.contests started their infographic journey
Who are you known as?
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Story to tell in the infographic
The infographic will need to be broken up into three parts. They are as follows:
1. Top | Olympic Medal Counts & Country Facts
2. Middle | Fun Facts about Olympic Swimming
3. Bottom | Men’s 100M Finisher times compared to other fast objects and animals.
We have collected some facts and statistics from the most popular summer Olympic sports and would like you to present them in a way that is both fun to look at and easy to digest.
Data to include in the infographic
All the data and copy for this infographic can be found in the attached PDF document titled "Olympics Infographic data & copy."
Elements to include in the infographic
We would prefer custom illustrations to represent the data rather than stock images whenever possible (please remember to provide us with direct link/price for any stock used). Feel free to make bar graphs, tables, diagrams, etc. to visualize the data, but please remember to keep it light and fun.
For your initial submission to be considered for the qualifying/final round you do NOT need to include everything from the attached pdf. Rather, we expect to see at least the following included in order to make our decision:
1. Olympic Medal Counts & Country Facts
2. Swimming changes in the sport/timeline
3. Usain Bolt times comparison vs. objects/animals
Keep in mind that this contest will lead to a 1-to-1 Project directly following the contest. The 1:1 is where we will finalize the total amount and which specific data we would like to be included in the design. You will be credited everywhere any part of the infographic is displayed.
Please be aware that we would like for you to put all the information and copy into 1 infographic design and following the contest we will be posting different section of this infographic to our social media audience. Each section of this design should be able to stand on it’s own. This is how we will ultimately be splitting up the sections of this infographic design:
Attached are a few examples of other unique concepts that appeal to us, feel free to use these as inspiration. We feel that since we have some of the best designers in the world to work with our infographic should stand far and above the rest in creativity and execution.
Please use only the attached color codes and fonts in your design. 99designs’ logo is also attached for your use, this infographic should fit in with 99designs’ branding.
We have also attached a few examples of infographics we liked.
Larseitt is our headline font.
Atlas Grotesk is our text font.
Georgia Italic (on comps already) is for interjections, designer attribution. Refer to attached guidelines for proper usage.
We would like to avoid the featureless people that you normally see in infographics for this contest ( i.e. https://image.freepik.com/free-vect…505060.jpg ).
Stock images are allowed (as long as source and price are included) but we encourage you to develop your own illustrations.
This infographic should be easy to read and relatively simple--not overly crowded with data, charts, and numbers.
