We've created a new kind of rollerblade and we want to see if people are interested and if they would buy it. Our main goal at this stage is simply to collect leads. We are targeting anyone in the world of any age who enjoys rollerblading.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
Hi. I need an illustration for a new product concept called Hoverblades. These are modified rollerblades that use powerful magnets to create magnetic suspension. The magnets repel each other forming an invisible gap between the bottom of the rollerblade boot and the top of the rollerblade wheel frame. This should feel like a nice cushion of air and allow for a more comfortable ride. I want people to feel like they are floating. Although my sketch shows 3 sets of opposing magnets, this is inaccurate. The magnets we will use are rectangular with one being embedded in the bottom of the boot, parallel to the boot and the other being embedded in the top of the wheel frame, also parallel to the frame. There will only be 2 magnets, one on the top and one on the bottom. The magnets will oppose each other and line up exactly like a mirror image. The magnets will span the entire length of the rollerblade. There will be telescoping stabilization poles at the front and at the back of each rollerblade. There should be 1 pole in the front and 1 pole in the back, however there may need to be 2 poles on each side (I do not have an actual prototype to test this out). Because of the extremely strong magnetic repulsive forces, without poles on each end to stabilize and guide the up and down movement of the boot, the boot would try to twist or flip over. This could be dangerous as it could cause a rider to fall or get their hand or a finger pinched in between the powerful magnets. It would be ideal to have a 2 inch gap between the opposing magnets when a person is wearing the rollerblades and their full weight is being supported by the magnetic suspension. I would like a sharp, clean design with an emphasis on a slick, futuristic look. It would be great if the telescoping poles were minimized in such a way to give the appearance that they were not even there. Then the rider and the rollerblades would look like they are truly hovering and defying gravity. Hence the name Hoverblades. I hope this helps you to understand what I am trying to achieve. I do have a landing page that I plan to put this illustration into. We are just trying to capture leads with this landing page to gauge public interest. This will determine if we will actually build a real prototype. Thank you.
