I am looking for art for a tabletop game. It’s called 10,000 over Iowa, and it’s inspired by what you see when you look out an airplane window at a patchwork landscape of fields. The aesthetic emphasis is not on agriculture so much as the beauty of the vista. You can see some visual ideas at https://www.pinterest.com/playsyrti…spiration/ and images of some very homemade versions of the game in the attachments.
10,000 over Iowa is a tile-laying game in which players build a landscape of fields. There is no board—the main components are 1” x 1” and 2” x 2” tiles. Since these are the heart of the game, their visual appeal is important to the gameplay experience. I am open to suggestion about the artistic style. When the contest is done, I will be looking for box art next, so a 1-to-1 follow-up project is a possibility.
In each of five colors, I’d like art for:
five 2” x 2” field tiles with center-pivot irrigation circles
one 2” x 2” field tiles containing buildings
one 2” x 2” field tiles containing silos
five 1” x 1” field tiles with center-pivot irrigation circles
one 1” x 1” field tiles containing buildings
one 1” x 1” field tiles containing silos
For effective play, the five colors and three types (irrigation, building, and silo fields) should be distinguishable at a glance. But some visual texture would be welcome.
The irrigation circles I definitely want to keep, but I’m open to suggestion about what the other two types are. I would prefer some aesthetic variation within each type. (See examples in the attached rules and photos.)
File requirements: The anticipated producer writes, “Make sure each file has each graphic element separated so we can cut and paste as required. You can leave a 1/8 gutter around all pieces to ensure full color registration.” I’d like PDFs of at least 300 dpi; if you can provide Corel Draw files in addition, that would be helpful.
