- Main icon for the application. This icon will be displayed on the mainiPhone screen. Two sizes are needed: a 57x57 PNG and a 512x512 72 dpiJPEG. Here are the details of what we are looking for here: (i) Deep blue or purple background (examples: see icons for the following apps on the iPhone - iTunes, AppStore, Facebook, Loopt)
(ii) Stopwatch as metaphor for graphic.
(iii) Artwork in solid white silouhette (see following app icons as examples: iTunes, AppStore, Facebook, Loopt, iPod, Phone). Other examples of "solid white" artwork are here on 99designs.com ... see icon for "read the brief")
(iv) Checkmark to represent watch hands in the center of the stopwatch.
- Nine PNG icons (likely 24x24, 32x32 at the largest) representing the different categories of routinesavailable. The icons should all be compatible with each other in terms of style and color palette. We are not opposed to these also being all white silouhette on dark background either. Surprise us. The nine categories are below, with thoughts on metaphors for each: (i) Exercise - running man, barbell
(ii) Cooking - fork, fork + knife
(iii) Medication - capsule
(iv) Meditation - sitting person in meditative posture, om symbol
(v) Diet - Scale, fabric tape measure
(vi) Affirmations - Exclamation point
(vii) Chores - Broom
(viii) Miscellaneous - Manilla file folder
(ix) Favorites - Star
Please include larger versions of these icons than 24x or 32x for review purposes, just make sure that they will retain their definition, crispness and clarity when they are reduced to the smaller dimensions.
- Source files for all graphics in vector format (e.g., Adobe illustrator files).--------------
UPDATE 06.09.2008 - The following URL contains a screenshot of one place within the application where the 9 icons will live:
Each icon will be placed to the left of its related title. As youcan see, space is limited. 32x32 is the maximum standard size forthese images. The 24x24 size tends to look a bit better (less crowded). Please do not present your entries within this screenshot until their icons are late in the design process. The 24x24 size is too small to review online. We include this screenshot so you can have a context for where these icons will live and also to use as a testbed for you to see how your icons will look like once reduced and placed within the application.
