I posted a contest to design a logo for my personal brand. Zee Van Ana was great to work with and stuck with me to refine the logo design.
Working with plants, as we do, it's often difficult for designers to incorporate an organic element to our artwork. This was not a problem here. Also, he submitted many designs that gave us a wide range of look/feel for us to chose. I would highly suggest working with ajiwaluyo.

Great job and was willing to work with me even after his design had been selected as the winner.
He was very responsive to our requests and his design stood out. The only reason we didn't give him 5 stars is because at times it seemed like he wasn't understanding exactly what we wanted (we would request a specific change, but the files he uploaded did not reflect that change so we had to reiterate again), but overall it was a good experience.
Love your work. Thank you!
Amazing Work by this designer!

Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are a very small 2 chair Salon located on one of the busiest streets in downtown Oakland. So, we are in an urban center and the vibe is informal, upscale and urban. We are attached to a barbershop, so our Salon is not super feminine. We want to attract a diverse clientele to our shop, mostly catering to people between 25-50 who want to feel connected to Oakland's small business culture.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?

Funky yet sophisticated is what I would like to capture for the logo.
The first pic below is a little sketch of what I thought might be cool. The rest of these pics just represent some elements of what I'd like to use or be inspired by for the logo. The second pic is just some fonts I liked that I thought maybe could be used or adapted in the Suru Salon logo. I like that font because it is kind of like airbrush, but a little more feminine. The third pic is our current logo for the barbershop, and I wanted to keep that shape for the Salon logo. Fourth pic is the Suru Clothing brand logo and I thought I would attach that for some inspiration for the middle symbol in the logo sketch I drew. I thought it would be cool to make it 2 letter S's joining in some way that looked cool. I was thinking the middle symbol of the logo could look similar to SURU clothing logo, just made skinner and more feminine (if that is possible). I also thought it would be cool to if the symbol looked little like a Third eye in the middle with the sun in the back. Just ideas!! I put also the back of a SURU T-Shirt for inspiration on the rays (I like those rays) Fonts I'm pretty open. I really love airbrush type fonts, but I think they might be played out. So, maybe keeping the font more classic and readable for the Suru Salon part, but then doing the middle S's with an airbrush free flowing font.
