By reading book's below supplied Preface, it might shed additional light on what the e-cover cover should convey ... Again open to suggestions since I'm not very creative.
This book was originally written for the exclusive benefit of my two young sons (for their eyes only) to increase the likelihood they, too, will be able to live the great American Dream in a debt free manner. As fewer and fewer jobs pay a “living wage” and the basic costs of survival (food, shelter and transportation) continue to rise, this dream is becoming so very difficult to attain and hold on to with each passing year
The middle class is under attack and dwindling fast as the divide between rich and poor is growing at an alarming rate. To make matters worse - Healthcare and college tuition costs are increasing for most of us at a time we can least afford them. And, many, many parents are struggling to save for a “rainy day”, while being stretched incredibly thin juggling family and career responsibilities in a rapidly changing work/technology environment. As a result, some parents (perhaps your very own) are over-relying on an already strained public education system to teach their children what they should be learning at home, like a deep rooted respect for the value of a dollar and sound money management principles.
How can you ensure you don’t get left behind financially in this day and age of economic uncertainty? For starters - By adhering to a proven “savings plan” that is 50 plus years in the making. A plan that is holistic and comprehensive in nature and focuses on building lasting wealth from the ground up at an early age … Starting with a solid personal foundation, sturdy frame and quality roof so you are someday sheltered from destructive storms and other damaging elements, whether naturally occurring or man-made.
The good news: No matter how dire things become economically here in the United States and beyond, there will always be newcomers that successfully battle the odds and rise to the top financially. I sacrificed countless nights and weekends over the course of three busy years writing this guide (while somehow managing my full time day job, aiding my mother in her losing battle with cancer and assisting in introducing my second son to the world), because I strongly believe it will significantly improve the odds my children will be able to save enough money at an early enough age to enjoy the liberating experience of financial independence/freedom (synonymous with living debt free) … just like I have and my parents before me.
As a way of giving back to others, I’m sharing my message with you so you too can stack the cards in your favor so you can enjoy a brighter future ... A future where you are not living paycheck to paycheck or worrying about where your next meal is coming from. A future where you are proud to be classified as middle class or better and are able to fend for yourself upon completing your formal schooling. A future filled with sound financial and lifestyle decisions that will positively impact you and your future loved ones for years to come!
Still not convinced and wondering why you should listen to my advice? Plain and simple, it works. (I wouldn’t subject my kids to it otherwise.) My Dad successfully piloted this thought provoking savings plan with me growing up and I have been able to replicate/refine to a large degree. Why re-invent the wheel when it has proven to be tremendously beneficial through two generations? You need a proven system now, not later. You don’t have as much time as you think to tinker with various strategies. It’s harder to change or adjust your ways the older you get. And besides - Is doing nothing (maintaining the status quo) a viable option? Will quick fixes or oversimplified, one dimensional approaches put you at increased risk of doing worse than your parents or becoming enslaved or indebted to others for most or all of your life?
If you are truthful with yourself, you are probably aware you tend to discount your parent’s advice, no matter how logical or sound. Hearing some of it again, from a neutral third party like me, may encourage you to listen and follow it all the more. Nothing I’m sharing is new or novel. However, surely some of it is what your well-off neighbors might not feel comfortable telling you or your family. If I wasn’t in the know as a teenager or young adult, I would want to read this book as soon as possible to get off to a fast start in life.
