We are releasing a book titled "How to plan a travel on a cargo ship: sail now and live the adventure of your life". The book is a guide to plan a voyage on a freighter cruiser and describe how life is on the ship.
Our target are young adults (18 - 45) with a passion for traveling.
The cover (including the back and spine) needs to be simple and bold – something that will pop-up in Amazon's Kindle store as a thumbnail and on the bookshelf. The book is 6'' x 9´´ (15.24 cm x 22.86 cm). The spine will be about 0.21'' ( 0.53 cm).
The imagery should make the viewer feel like they are able to plan and live their dream adventure by reading the book. People should feel that by reading the book they will be able to collect the money, prepare the required documents and start their journey in less than one year.
It's important that the book "pops of the shelf" and catches the eye. The most important part of the design for us will be "does it sell", not "does it look pretty". So it is very important that it catches the eye, is very polished, and very engaging/interesting.
Here you can find examples of color palettes we like (but we are not too attached to it):
Contest is GUARANTEED and BLINDED.
One idea we have in mind is about a person contemplating the sea, with a cargo ship far in the view. But, again, we are not too attached to it. Here you can find some example:
Note that on the back cover we would have:
- the title and a short description of the book
- a picture of the autor and a short description
- the ISBN barcode and the WithoutFlying logo on the bottom. You can find our logo here:
