What began as a young person's hope for the future and early ability to break down barriers has become a lifelong passion and focus to help people in the most stressful situations and places, make immediate, remarkable and RADICAL changes in their lives. Michelle's father (the late) Glenn Walter Wright, a stand-out high school Captain of almost every Varsity sport in (Weedsport, NY where he and his brothers were the only black students) and famed athlete in football and baseball at Tuskegee University, taught her to ride a motorcycle at age ten, urging her to "integrate the once all-male riding club." (Which she did with success and became the first girl in the "all boys club," successfully breaking barriers or other girls to join and ride from then forward).
Michelle was raised in an intentional community of artists, musicians, famous band leaders and baseball players. Michelle's mother, Dorothy, a writer, advice columnist was also active in politics in Manhattan (New York City), where Michelle was born. Both her parents were government employees who devoted their lives to health and human services. Her parents instilled a lifelong appreciation for nature, service, philanthropy, the arts and education. These values and early lessons taught her to prevail no matter what the odds- and they propelled her to early and continued success in life.
